The "Trypia Varka” Restaurant (meaning the boat with a hole) became famous decades ago by the Greek actor Vasilis Avlonitis, who portrayed the role of "Gylos" in the Greek movie "Soferina" with Aliki Vougiouklaki (she was an actress icon in Greece)  describing a picturesque tavern on the beach of Grand Kavouri. Many movies after that have scenes of this unique seaside destination which is situated so near to Athens.

Now fifty-five years later, in 2018 a general renovation of the area took place. The old tavern was replaced by a beautiful new restaurant which although faithfully preserves the tradition of the name it carries and has become even more popular now.

During the summer months we offer the ideal seaside destination. The combination of our lounge area on the beach where you can drink, snack or dine while enjoying the great scenery is beyond competition. As for the Winter season, “Trypia Varka” is the most romantic and idyllic place for a nice walk on the beautiful paved paths along the beach continued by an excellent meal.
